Holycross Reunion Melbourne 2007
HolyCross School and College Reunion
was held on 8th of July 2007 at Cinnamon Club,
Cheltenham in Melbourne. This is the first ever
HolyCross Reunion being held in Australia. 86 people
attended the event including 37 crossmers. We are
proud of being a crossmer and feel proud to carry
the flag in future. Whatever we do in this enormous
world we will always remember our roots.

SHUROLOK Music
Appreciation and Performance Group of Melbourne
...
SHUROLOK Music Appreciation and
Performance Group of Melbourne staged its inaugural program “ALOKER
JHORNADHARA” coinciding Bangla Bobo Borsho and Robindro Jonmodin on 28
April evening at the Karralyka Theatre. A well attended function, the
members of SHUROLOK performed songs of Poncho Kobi as well as folks
songs from the traditional Bangali treasure of music. The program was
directed by Chanchal Khan and was also participated by distinguished
guest artistes Rahul Chatterjee, the sitar legend from Kolkata and Forid
Uddin (tabla player) from Dhaka. Due to illness, Durbadal Chatterjee was
unable to perform that evening. Three prominent cultural groups of
Melbourne, Natya Kala Mandir, Kathak Abriti Kendra and Bangla Language
and Cultural School also participated in the program. The program
started with a welcome speech by Chobi Hossain, Shobhapoti of SHUROLOK .

to be celebrated on 14th April 2007 (Saturday) at Chandler Community
Center, Issac Road, Noble Park, VIC 3174 (Melway Ref: 89 D9) A
Sarbojonin (non-partisan) organising committee has been formed in this
respect. The Mela Organising Committee requests you to circulate it to
your family, friends and other members of your organisation (if any).
The committee also hereby invites Expression of Interest from the
honourable members of our community for the following: 1. Cultural
events (BY 31 March, 2007); i. Songs, Dance, Recitation; ii. Variety

Forum in Victoria was held on 17th of march 2007 in Glen Waverley
community Centre, Glen Waverley. Main events of the day were: 1.
Scientific seminar: Thanks to all speakers: Dr. Naveed Alam, Dr. Saifun
Panna Naser, Dr. Sharafat Malek and Dr. A. Zaman Bhuiyan for their
extra-ordinary presentations. 2. Annual General Meeting: New Commitee
was formed: President: Dr. Shawkat kamal General Secretary Dr. Saifun
Panna Naser Treasurer: Dr. Kaniz Fatema Ilahee Lopa Executive Committee
Members: Dr. Sharafat malek Dr. Shahed Alam Dr. Md. Asif Ex-officio: Dr.
Nilufar Talat 3. Cultural Function: Fresher's Welcome: New medical
students honoured: Frida Hossain, Munad Khan, Sauda Islam, Smita Deb
(absent), Nassif Hossain (absent). Fellowship graduates and AMC
