Do
any of you know Parvez Chowdhury? This is called fate that, now, with my mere
words I have to introduce the most rising and promising cultural activist of the
country. Among the young cultural workers of Bangladesh ? he is a living icon of
legend. Still, why so few people know his name? The answer is pretty simple:
Parvez Chowdhury is such a character who likes to be invisible. Parvez Chowdhury
is a man who has spent two third of his lifetime in designing, founding and
implementing his dreams keeping himself behind the curtain and being almost
unknown to the audience. Do you remember the magazine program ?DESHJUDE? of
Ekushe Television? Do you watch ?SHUVO SHONDHA? or ?AJKER SHOKAL? in NTV? Do you
know the name of the director? Try to guess. I am sure that most of the viewers
of these programs do not know the name of the mastermind behind those. It?s
nothing new when there is Parvez Chowdhury. How many members of Jahangirnagar
Theatre know the name of the designer of their logo? How many members of
Drishyapat know the person behind the much-famed poster of Socretes er
Jobanbondi? He is a playwright who never wanted to be famous. He is a poet also.
Posters with his poem upon Jahanara Imam can still be found in
university halls.
Still, he is not a famous person ? because, he never wanted to
be. Now imagine, what happens if this person suddenly finds that both of his
heart valves are damaged and need to be replaced! A person who never tried to
earn enough let alone savings, a person who has nothing but his large heart to
give away ? has to manage 2 million taka! Now guess, what this man is doing?
Want to know? He is laughing. He doesn?t believe that he is going to die without
this money ? because his whole life he believed that money is the least
important thing a person may ever need.
But, we friends can not bear the reality. We don?t want to see
a person like Parvez is loosing against the worst thing of the world ? ?money?.
We want to see him as a winner. We want to win. Don?t you?
PLEASE RISE YOUR HAND IN THIS FIGHT. HEART AND HUMANITY CANNOT
BE DEFEATED.
